SEMINOLE WARRIORS BOXING AND SYCUAN RINGSIDE PROMOTIONS JOIN FORCES TO PROMOTE WORLD LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPION JULIO DIAZ AND WORLD SUPER BANTAMWEIGHT CHAMPION CELESTINO CABALLERO

HOLLYWOOD, FL, October 24
– They made history in May by becoming the first two tribes to join forces to present a world championship boxing card. Since that time, the Seminole Tribe of Florida and the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation have continued to work side by side to bring the best of the best to fight fans around the world. Seminole Warriors Boxing Promotions and Sycuan Ringside Promotions have in place co-promotional deals with World Lightweight Champion Julio Diaz and World Super Bantamweight Champion Celestino Caballero.

“This is an exciting time for Seminole Warriors Boxing Promotions, as we are working with another great Native American promotional entity in developing and promoting world champions like Diaz and Caballero,” said Leon Margules, Executive Director of Seminole Warriors Boxing. “Julio is a star in the exciting lightweight division, and along with our partners at Sycuan Ringside Promotions, we will do everything in our power to help him reach his potential while giving the fans compelling and exciting matchups every time he steps into the ring.”

The pride of Coachella, California, Julio “Kidd” Diaz (33-3, 24 KOs) has done his fighting family proud by becoming one of the top lightweights in the world over the course of a seven year career that has seen him hold the IBF 135-pound title twice. Most recently, the 26-year-old Diaz fought his way to the top spot again on May 18th as he scored a 12 round unanimous decision over Ricky Quiles to win the interim world title on the Tribal Pride PPV show at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

Julio Diaz now has to fight current IBF champion Jesus Chavez to remove the word “interim” from his World Title. The two partners Seminole Warriors Boxing and Sycuan Ringside Promotions pledge to use their resources to promote that fight as well as all other fights involving the their champions.
